Cameras

Technical information about the photographs.
The 'Thin Places' series was taken using Rolleiflex 2.8F 6x6 and Voigtlander Bessa 6x9 medium format film cameras. The film (Ilford FP4 and HP5) is hand developed by myself, then scanned and optimised in Photoshop on a Mac. I love the feel of these old mechanical cameras, and the results are fabulous.

The 'Margins' series was taken mostly on the Rolleiflex 6x6 and Voigtlander 6x9 film cameras, followed by layers and filters in Photoshop.

The 'Wild China' series was taken initially with a Nikon F4 (using Fuji Velvia) followed by a Nikon D200 (shooting RAW). I prefer to use prime lenses such as the 35mm f1.4 and 85mm f1.4.

The 'Moments' series was taken mostly with a Nikon Coolpix 5400 and more recently a Ricoh GRD - small enough to fit in my pocket, it travels everywhere with me.

The 'Shells' series was taken with a Nikon D200 using a 55mm micro lens.

The 'Mindscapes' series has started with the D200, but I'll be venturing into experimental territory with old film cameras and home-made filters...
