Samhain is the old Celtic New Year and Feast of the Dead, celebrated at the end of October. According to the Druids, it's the time of the year when the veil between this world and the otherworld is at its thinnest, when the spirits mingle with the living. It’s a time of endings, re-appraisals, and looking onwards to the future. The ancient Druid network was only bestowed the same status as Christianity and Islam in 2010. Since then, a focus on the environment & nature, a rekindling of folklore, and attitudes to women are earning the religion many new followers. This particular festival gathering took place at Glastonbury.
